About All Souls’

All Souls’ Episcopal Church in Ansonville is believed to have its origins in 1880 as a field chapel. The original building was upgraded in 1886 and on December 13, 1896, All Souls’ was formally established as a mission church of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.

Except for the very early years, All Souls’ and Calvary have shared clergy and worked together closely.

In 2010 All Souls’ was designated a Living Historic Church by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.

On Nov. 1, 2022 the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina merged All Souls’ Episcopal Church in Ansonville with Calvary Parish in Wadesboro. Calvary is responsible for all property and ecclesiastical well being of All Souls’. The Calvary vestry voted to hold fifth-Sunday and special services at All Souls’ during the year. This merger ensures a continuing Episcopal presence in northern Anson County.

Services are held at All Souls’ on the fifth Sunday of each month at 11 a.m.
