Rev. Anne Abdy

Rector

Rev. Anne Abdy, rector at Calvary since Sept. 1, 2026, is an Episcopal priest with a deep commitment to hospitality, spirituality and the healing work of ministry. She was formerly priest in charge at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Wilmington, where she also served as a volunteer chaplain at Trinity Landing Independent Living and Retirement Community and Trinity Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Before her call to ordained ministry, Rev. Anne built a long professional career as a mental health therapist, addiction counselor and recreation therapist, serving primarily in hospital settings. Across each chapter of her life and work, she has understood her vocation as ministry, rooted in compassion, presence and care for others.

Born and raised in Southern Africa, in Namibia and South Africa during the Apartheid era, Rev. Anne brings to her ministry a lived awareness of justice, resilience and the sacred dignity of every person. She is especially passionate about the Benedictine practice of radical hospitality and the ways spiritual community can welcome, sustain, and transform lives.

Rev. Anne earned a Master of Divinity from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., and served a mission parish in the Diocese of Oregon before moving to the East Coast in 2021. She also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in recreation therapy from the University of Georgia and Missouri State University, and a liberal arts degree from Cottey College.

Rev. Anne is married to Stacy Collins, and together they enjoy spending time with family in Charleston, S.C., and Hampstead. In their free time, they find spiritual connection and renewal through hiking, kayaking and their newest shared hobby, birding. Rev. Anne loves reading autobiographies and historical fiction and draws inspiration from meaningful conversations and relationships. Stacy, in her most recent professional employment, served as lay chaplain for Trinity Landing and Trinty Grove. She enjoys being outside, working in the garden, reading mysteries and dreaming about the book she intends to write. Stacy has never met a stranger.
